Piano and Collaborative Piano

Leah Kang is an accomplished performing pianist and a passionate music educator with a career spanning solo, chamber, and collaborative performances across North America and internationally. She holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri, where she was a full scholarship recipient. During her studies, Leah trained under world-renowned pianists, including Dr. Peter Miyamoto (National Chopin Competition prizewinner), Victor Rosenbaum, and Frederic Chiu. She also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music.

Over the past decade, Leah has captivated audiences through numerous solo recitals in the United States and Canada. Her versatility as a musician shine in her work as an accompanist, where she has collaborated with the University of Women’s Choral and participated in acclaimed productions by the Show-Me Opera, including La Cenerentola and Cosi Fan Tutte. In 2013, Leah’s artistry was recognized when she was named an Emerging Artist Competition winner at the Missouri Theatre. That same year, she received Honorable Mention at the Missouri Music Teachers Association’s (MMTA) Collegiate Honors Auditions. She is also a proud member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

After moving to Toronto, Leah expanded her teaching career and established herself as a sought-after piano educator and accompanist in the vibrant local music community. She is the founder and director of Inspire Music Academy, a highly regarded institution with two locations in Markham and Aurora. Inspire Music Academy serves over 400 students and employs more than 20 dedicated teachers, making it a cornerstone of the music education landscape in the region.

Leah is also highly respected for her work as an adjudicator. She has served as a adjudicator for the Unionville Music Festival and Richmond Hill Music Festival, where her insightful feedback and encouraging demeanor have earned widespread praise from both participants and organizers.

Leah’s students consistently achieve exceptional results, earning high scores on RCM exams and accolades in prestigious competitions. Many have performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and claimed top prizes at events including the Canadian Music Competition (CMC), Ontario Provincial Music Festivals and Local Music Festivals.

With her unique combination of performance excellence, entrepreneurial leadership, and teaching expertise, Leah continues to make a profound and lasting impact on both the concert stage and in the classroom.
